Cottonwood at Challenger Park

A Colorado staple, Cottonwoods can be found all over the state. They can be a source of frustration in the spring, due to their sticky pods filled with "cotton" covered seeds. Despite this their ecological importance and beauty, especially in the fall, is difficult to overstate. The tree pictured here has been a reliable anchor for my slackline at the Challenger Regional Park for many years, by Mensura Coqui Photography.
